Introduction
This intervention is carried out on a Peugeot 306 phase 3 petrol 1.8 16V 112ch engine XU7JP4

Filler cap

Level gauge

Oil filter

Engine drain plug

Gearbox drain plug

When you drain, make sure you unscrew the correct cap.

Turn off the engine.

Open the filler cap.
-
Place the drain pan under the drain plug.
-
Using an 8mm BTR bit or a 21mm 6-sided socket, remove the drain plug.
-
Let the oil drain.
-
Once there is no more oil in the engine, clean the crankcase well at the plug level.
-
Make sure the old gasket is not stuck to the crankcase.
-

Coat the joint with new filter of a little new oil.
-
Put it down new filter and screw it to the correct torque.
-
Remove the old drain plug.
-
Let the little remaining oil drain off.
-
Put it down new cap and its new seal.
-
Use only one of the 2 gaskets provided.
-
If you have changed the oil filter you will need to add 4.75 liters.
-
Add a little lessoil as recommended then close the filler cap.
-

Run the engine so that the oil circulates in the filter.
-
Check the level then top up.
-
The level must be between the 2 marks.
-
Check that there are no leaks, neither at the level of the drain plug nor under the filtered.

Or buy a 3/8 bell to remove this damn badly placed filter
Especially with the air conditioning compressor.
