Introduction
Engine oil change and oil filter replacement for Audi A3 8P 1.9TDI 105
-
-
The engine must be run for 10 minutes to bring the oil up to temperature (recommended for better removal of residue).
-
Draining the oil can be messy, it is important to protect your floor.
-
Using a lifting ramp is a good way to work comfortably under the vehicle. It is not mandatory but recommended.
-
-
-
Remove the cover under the engine, to do this you need to unscrew 10 torx screws (3xT30 and 7xT25)
-
-
-
Unscrew the engine oil cap counterclockwise.
-
Place your oil collection tray under the car (within reach).
-
Using the ratchet and a 19 socket, unscrew the drain plug counterclockwise.
-
Place your recovery tray under the engine. Be careful, the flow rate is high for the first few seconds. Wait an hour for the oil to drain (recommended).
-
Then screw the drain plug with its seal back in a clockwise direction. The tightening torque is 30Nm (by hand, screw it in until it stops and do a little less than 1/4 turn).
-
Add 3.8L of oil (see manufacturer's recommendation) to the engine through the oil cap.
-
Screw the engine oil cap clockwise. It is recommended to replace the drain plug at each oil change.
-
Reinstall the engine cover (see step 2).
-
-
-
Unscrew the cap of the filter cartridge containing the oil filter (32 socket) counterclockwise.
-
Remove the old oil filter clipped onto the filter cartridge cap. Be careful, there is still some oil in the filter, have a container ready.
-
-
-
Your oil filter is sold with a gasket. Remove the old gasket using small pliers or a flat screwdriver and fit the new one.
-
Clip the new oil filter into the filter cartridge cap.
-
Replace the filter in the cartridge.
-
Tighten the filter cartridge to 25Nm (without forcing too much).
-
-
-
The vehicle must be flat to check the oil level.
-
Start your vehicle (fill the oil filter cartridge) and run the engine for a minute.
-
.The dipstick is used to check the oil level. Take it out and clean the end with a cloth.
-
Put the dipstick back in as far as it will go, take it out and check the end. The level should be between the min and max. If the level is not reached, pour in a little oil and check again.

Hello, for the cap of the filter cartridge containing the oil filter I used a 32 mm socket but it is too small. Do you need a special socket for the cap? Thanks in advance
it's for an Audi A3 1.9 2003
Good morning.
On some models you need a 36 socket for the oil filter.
Good morning,
I finished my oil change on a 2007 Audi A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI 140 without any problems, however the procedure for REMOVING THE OIL FILTER seems different on the 2010 one that I am trying to do (it is a 2.0 TDI 140 QUATTRO 16V).
The mechanism for removing the oil filter is different from the tutorial you just presented. I can't remove it and access to it is much more restricted.
Do you have a solution for me please?
Thanks in advance.
And what about the km of the revision?
