Video Overview

  1. Open the driver's side door Pull the crank located under the steering wheel at the bottom left Open the hood
  2. Remove all screws holding the plate under the vehicle Remove the plate Remove the plate

  3. Place a drain pan under the crankcase for the oil Unscrew the crankcase cap Let the oil flow into the pan
  4. View the oil filter Unscrew it using the oil filter bell Finish unscrewing it by hand then remove the oil filter

    • Finish unscrewing it by hand then remove the oil filter

  5. Compare the dimensions of the new filter to the old one Lubricate with a little oil around the oil filter gasket Reposition the new gasket on the crankcase plug

    • Reposition the new gasket on the crankcase plug

  6. Replace and screw the new oil filter into its location by hand. Once all the engine oil has drained, replace and screw the crankcase plug back on with a drain plug. Once all the engine oil has drained, replace and screw the crankcase plug back on with a drain plug.

  7. Put the plate back Tighten all the screws holding the plate in place Tighten all the screws holding the plate in place

  8. Remove the filler cap Place a funnel and pour about 4 liters of oil
    • Remove the filler cap

    • Start the engine, let it run for a minute, then turn it off.

  9. After stopping the engine, pull out the oil dipstick The correct oil level should be just below the maximum, if this is not the case add oil to reach the correct level Screw the filler cap back on.

Before the oil change, the computer had warned me to perform this repair with the Service light remaining solid. How do I reset after the oil change?
