Introduction
Carry out the oil change and oil filter change on Peugeot 407 v6 hdi 204cv
-
-
Warm up the engine to get a more fluid oil, raise the vehicle, and put a candle for your safety.
-
Remove the engine cover, leave the vehicle on its stand, because not everyone has a slim waistline.
-
-
-
Remove the engine cover by removing the 13 screws.
-
Using a flat screwdriver, turn them a quarter turn to remove them.
-
-
-
Then open the engine oil filler cap and the oil dipstick.
-
This step will facilitate the evacuation of the oil by air intake.
-
-
-
Slide the retention tray in beforehand, loosen the drain plug with a square key available on the oscaro.com website.++
-
Leave the retention tray underneath it to properly collect all the oil, then leave it in place because by removing the oil filter, the drainage will continue.
-
For the environment, please dispose of used oil at an approved collection point.
-
-
-
To ensure that the engine oil is drained properly, lay the vehicle flat, remove the jack stand, allow the oil to drain, then replace the jack stand. candle, and finally screw the drain plug back on.
-
Change the oil filter. It is located in a bell as shown in the photo
-
Unscrew the bell with a 32 mm wrench
-
-
-
Compare the old and le nouveau filtre à huile then change the bell seal.
-
Oil the seal a little with used drain oil.
-
Then put the bell back in its original location, respecting the tightening torque indicated on it.
-
-
-
Then replace the drain plug gasket and put it back in place without tightening too much.
-
Remove the candle to check the oil level on a flat surface.
-
-
-
Pour the 5.5 l of oil required into this engine. Use a 5w30 oil of C2 standard because this engine is equipped with a Particulate Filter (FAP)
-
Be careful not to exceed the maximum oil level.
-
I recommend putting in a whole 5l can and then checking the level.
-
Run the engine for 2/3 minutes, wait 5 minutes to check the oil level, pull out the dipstick and refer to the photo to know the level. The line on the left is the minimum and the line on the right is the maximum.
-
Check that there are no leaks at the drain plug then replace the engine cover.
-
-
-
To reset the counter, hold down the check button and while holding it down, turn on the ignition.
-
A countdown will start, don't release the button until the end.
-
Once finished you will see 30000 km displayed on the odometer.*
-
Warm the car up a bit and let it sit to check the oil level again.

Good morning,
Look in front of the engine not far from the alternator. I think it's in this corner.
Thanks indeed not complicated! By the way, have you all done an oil change on your automatic gearbox? (2.7 liter v6 from 2005 for me and never done with 170,000 km on the clock)
