Procedure for draining the engine oil and changing the oil filter on Peugeot 207 SW 1.6 HDI16V 90 hp

  1. Open the hood. Unscrew and remove the oil filler cap and dipstick.
    • Open the hood.

  3. Remove the front of the battery cover. Remove the air hose by moving the lug to the left and pulling the assembly towards you. Remove the air box mounting clips using a small flat screwdriver.

    • Remove the entire air box by pulling it upwards.

  4. Locate the oil filter. Place an oil collection tray under it. Unscrew the oil filter bell using a ratchet, an extension, a universal joint and a 27 socket and remove the assembly.

    • Hold the oil filter bell with one hand.

    • Pull the used filter upwards with the other hand.

  5. Remove the old gasket from the bell using a small flathead screwdriver. Place the new gasket (supplied with the oil filter) on the bell, coat it with a little new oil.

  6. Check the new oil filter for correct fit. Place the oil filter alone in its housing on the engine, paying attention to the location of the small tip. Present the bell by hand and finish tightening with the key.

    • Reassemble the air box and the battery cover by following step no. 3 in reverse order.

  7. Replace the drain plug gasket. Present the cork in your hand. Finish tightening using a 21 mm flat or ring wrench.

    • Clean oil spills around the cap and oil filter using a degreaser and paper towels.

    • Reassemble the under-engine protection plate. Tighten and secure the 8 screws using a 10 mm flat wrench.

  8. Do an initial 3/4 fill. Minimum level.

    • Run the engine for 30 seconds so that the oil filter fills, turn off the engine and wait a few minutes.

    • Top up oil to the maximum level.

    • Close the filler cap and replace the dipstick.

  9. Hold down the right button on the dashboard and turn on the ignition. Wait for the countdown to end and turn off the ignition. Close the hood. Close the hood.
