It is best to raise the car a little so that you can slide a recovery tray under the engine.
-
The engine must be warm to hot to allow good oil flow.
-
place the drain pan directly above the drain bolt.
-
-
-
Loosen the oil filler cap, leaving it on the hole so as not to drop anything in.
-
The drain bolt is located under the car in the middle of the engine, more precisely at the bottom of the oil pan.
-
Please note that used oil is very polluting for nature and difficult to clean. It must be taken to a collection/waste disposal center.
-
With the oil collection pan ready to receive the oil, use the drain wrench to remove the drain bolt and anticipate the oil flow.
-
-
-
Using the filter remover, loosen the filter counterclockwise. Photo 1
-
Be careful to expect oil to flow, you must place a cloth under the filter to absorb it. Visible in photo 2
-
Remove the filter, keeping the open side facing upwards.
-
Check compatibility with the new filter. Height and width, the model is slightly different but compatible (new reference).
-
-
-
Put a little new oil on the gasket of the new filter.
-
Tighten the new filter by hand without over-forcing. If in doubt, check the installation instructions on your filter.
-
Once the oil has drained, replace the drain bolt gasket with a new one and tighten it with the drain wrench on the crankcase. Do not force it too much.
-
-
-
Check the car manual for the amount of oil needed.
-
Be careful, excess oil can cause engine failure.
-
Using a funnel, very slowly pour the oil into the filler hole.
-
To check the oil level, remove and clean the oil dipstick.
-
The correct oil level is between the minimum and maximum level on the oil dipstick. If in doubt, refer to the car's manual.
-
Once the oil level is ok, put the dipstick back in place and screw the filler cap back on.
-
Check the level after about ten km.
