Introduction
With this tutorial, you will know how to drain and change the oil filter on a Citroën C1 petrol 1.0vti 68 horsepower
-
-
Open the hood of your C1 using the lever under the steering wheel on the left by pulling it.
-
-
-
Open le bouchon de remplissage oil to make the oil flow faster
-
The oil will flow faster because the air will push it down.
-
-
-
Raise your car on the passenger side with a jack, place a jack stand on the frame or subframe.
-
You can now unscrew using your 14 mm flat wrench le bouchon du carter d'huile
-
Remember to prepare your container to collect the oil.
-
-
-
Allow the oil to drain properly by resting the vehicle on the ground.
-
If you do not lower the vehicle, oil will remain in the crankcase.
-
-
-
Remove your oil filter with your filter wrench.
-
Be careful with your hands, it will still leak, just loosen the filter a quarter turn, then remove the wrench and turn the filter by hand.
-
-
-
When the oil has completely drained, raise the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
-
At the oil filter holder, put some old oil on the round end.
-
-
-
Apply used oil to the gasket du nouveau filtre à huile, then tighten it by hand as hard as possible.
-
If the filter is not tightened properly, you risk finding a large puddle of oil under your C1!
-
-
-
Put votre nouveau joint on your sump plug.
-
Screw the oil pan cap back on with your 14mm wrench, remembering to wipe the pan with a cloth before putting it back on.
-
Also lower your vehicle from its jack and its axle stand.
-
-
-
I reverse votre nouvelle huile in the engine, it will take about 3.2L of oil
-
Use 5W30, according to the standards recommended by the manufacturer!
-
-
-
Give your used oils to your recycling center or your garage, it will serve as new oil at a discount price once treated.
-
-
-
Once the 3.2L of oil is put into the engine, start it, but do not accelerate! Your filter must fill with the new oil.
-
Speeding up damages your engine because it won't be fully lubricated.
-
After 15 seconds, turn off the engine
-
There you have it, your engine is drained!

On these engines I fill the oil filter with oil before reassembling. On the other hand, avoid bringing your used oil to your mechanic, he may not be very happy... A recycling center will take care of the recycling without any problem.

Thank you very much. At least, by doing the oil change myself, the oil is of good quality and the filter is actually replaced. ;-)
