Introduction

It is recommended to carry out the engine oil change while it is warm for better oil flow.

  1.
Lift the vehicle: Securing the vehicle: removing and refitting the wheel

Visualize the crankcase, place a container under the crankcase to collect the used oil.

With the help of the allen key Unscrew the sump plug and let the used oil flow into the pan.
  2.
Placer a bin under the vehicle below the oil filter just next to the crankcase.

Place the oil filter wrench around of the oil filter at the notches on the end of the filter.

Once the oil level is above the minimum, run the engine for one minute and then let it sit for a few minutes before checking again.

Repeat the operation until you obtain the correct oil level.

Indeed on 106/saxo on the latest models because of ecology, you can have a paper filter under a plastic bell on the right side of the engine block and not a screwed metal cartridge like here.

You will need to access it from above with a 28mm socket and an extension and ratchet wrench. Once the socket is pushed onto the bell (hexagonal imprint) all that remains is to loosen and pull it from above, be careful, oil will flow.

Remove the filter from the bell and put the new one with the new oiled O-rings including the one for the bell thread. Then tighten moderately and that's it. (Check that the edge of the bell must come into contact with the support into which it screws, otherwise it is not tight enough and it will leak). Have a good trip...

Note: there are 2 different types of filters: The cartridge as in the tutorial and the paper filter as shown at the top of this page, access is then from above, and the method is slightly different

Depending on the drain plug model, you may need a Peugeot drain key with an 8mm square end, not an Allen key.

Nice tutorial otherwise!
