Introduction
It is recommended to carry out the draining warm engine for a better flow oil.
-
-
Lift the vehicle: Securing the vehicle: removing and refitting the wheel
-
Visualize the crankcase, position a container under the crankcase to collect the used oil.
-
Using a torx t45 wrench or socket, unscrew the crankcase plug and let the used oil flow into the tank.
-
-
-
While the oil used engine oil is leaking, replace the rubber seal on the plug with a new seal (at each oil change).
-
Check that the new seal is identical (internal diameter, external diameter, thickness, etc.)
-
If necessary you can also replace the cap with a new one.
-
-
-
Once the oil has completely drained, screw the oil pan plug back on with its new gasket.
-
With the help of the torx t45 key tighten the crankcase plug.
-
Spray brake cleaner to clean oil marks.
-
-
-
Open the engine hood and locate the location of the oil filter bell
-
Place a pan under the vehicle below the oil filter
-
Using the 32 socket, unscrew the plastic bell containing the oil filter.
-
Remove the engine bell.
-
-
-
Remove the old one oil filter by pulling it out of the bell and cleaning the bell with a clean cloth.
-
Compare the old and new oil filter (reference, diameter, length, etc.)
-
-
-
Remove the old gasket from the bell using a small flathead screwdriver.
-
Replace it with the new gasket supplied with the filter.
-
Be careful to place it in its throat and not at the end of the thread.
-
-
-
Reposition the oil filter by clipping the filter to the bottom of the plastic bell.
-
The side of the filter with a plastic tab sticking out is the one that clips into the bottom of the bell.
-
Clean the oil filter housing in the engine with a clean rag. Lubricate the bell housing gasket by applying a little engine oil with your finger.
-
Screw the bell back in by hand then tighten with the 32 socket.
-
Spray with brake cleaner.
-
-
-
Do not START the engine without oil!
-
Return the vehicle to the ground on a level surface.
-
Open the engine oil filler cap located on the right of the engine block.
-
Respect the quality and quantity of oil recommended by the manufacturer in the vehicle manual. From 3 to 3.5 liters depending on the engine.
-
Pour the oil, you can use a funnel so as not to overflow.
-
Go gradually, you must not exceed the MAX oil volume.
-
-
-
With the vehicle completely flat, carry out an initial gauge to check that the oil level exceeds the minimum (green arrow).
-
Once the oil level is above the minimum, run the engine for one minute and then let it sit for a few minutes before checking again.
-
Repeat the operation until you obtain the correct oil level.
-
The level should not reach the maximum (red arrow) but 2 millimeters below.
-
Fill in the label (mileage, date of oil change, type of oil, next oil change in 7500 km) and place it in a dry place
-
Remember to drop off your used oil at a recycling point.
