I found my answer, so I'll give it to those who might be wondering: it's the 27mm socket. The filter wrench is used to adapt to several types of filters, I think, but in any case, on the Peugeot 307 1.6 HDi that I did this weekend, it was a 27mm socket that was needed!

Good morning,

Is a special filter wrench absolutely necessary, or can a socket do the job? (and if so, by how much?!)

THANKS !

Thank you for this tutorial I was able to change the oil and diesel filter, air filter, cabin filter and oil filter within the allotted time. I just removed the windshield bay reinforcement bar to have a little more space. Excellent!! I recommend!
