Introduction

The model presented is a Renault Express phase 1.

  1. 
Battery is located under the windshield on the passenger side.

Open the hood.

Remove the clamp holding the battery in place by unscrewing the 13mm bolt.

    • Remove the terminals by unscrewing them.

    • Remove the battery.

Remove the engine compartment/battery separation gasket.

Remove the gasket from the fixing hook.

Remove the gasket, the plastic protective cover should come with it.

Pull the tab outward to release it from the hook and then unplug.

If you have any left windshield washer fluid in the jar, the fluid will come out either through the inlet or the outlet when you take out the pump and hose. So you will need to make the swap quickly.

Remove the pump by pulling it up.

Immediately install the new pump and plug the outlet with your finger.

    • Remove the hose from the old pump and then fit it onto the new one.

    • Reconnect the pump electrically.

    • Remember to remove any spilled washer fluid using a cloth.

Reassembly is carried out in reverse order.

Remember to clean the battery posts and terminals and coat them with copper grease to protect them.
