Introduction

The barrel of the trunk lock can get stuck. Its replacement is very simple. This model is a manual barrel, without central locking.

For an electric barrel with central locking, simply unplug and replug a socket.

This tutorial concerns the Twingo produced before September 2004

  1. Remove the plastic cover from the trunk door. It is held in place by clips and glue. It comes off easily by carefully pulling on it. Tip: To prevent the trunk light from staying on and draining the battery during operation, place a piece of tape over the switch located at the bottom, near the locking mechanism, to hold it down.
