We are going to change the rear light bulbs on a Mercedes Sprinter 516CDI dumper version.
-
To change the rear light bulbs, simply remove the plastic cover in front of the bulbs.
-
Use a TORX 20 screwdriver to unscrew the 4 screws holding the plastic bracket.
-
The plastic bracket can now be placed down, gently pull on the black grid to help the plastic into position to gain access to the bulbs.
-
-
-
Now that the plastic bracket is completely removed and down the headlight.
-
We will now identify the bulbs and their uses:
-
In black: Position lighting (night light)
-
In blue: Fog lighting
-
In purple: Lighting when braking
-
In green: Reversing lighting
-
In orange: Flashing light
-
-
-
If one of your bulbs is blown, locate it by doing an initial test then switch off the ignition.
-
Remove the bulb by unscrewing it, then put a new bulb in the same place, respecting its direction and screwing it back in carefully.
-
-
-
Once the bulb(s) have been changed and having checked that they are working properly.
-
Reposition the plastic headlight bracket in its housing, checking that the seal is properly seated.
-
Tighten the 4 screws using the TORX 20 screwdriver quite firmly.
