Introduction
Spark plugs should be changed as a preventative measure every 30,000 km.
-
-
The spark plugs are located at the rear of the engine
-
under the ignition harnesses (black cables)
-
To avoid any risk of error, change the spark plugs one by one.
-
-
-
remove the ignition harness by pulling it upwards
-
Do not pull directly on the wire, take the bundle by its end.
-
put it aside
-
clean the spark plug well using a blower
-
Failing that, a can of computer air can do the trick.
-
-
-
Using the ratchet, extension, universal joint and 16mm spark plug socket, release the spark plug
-
If the spark plug is tight, move the wrench back and forth, unscrewing and tightening it.
-
finish unscrewing by hand
-
remove the spark plug
-
-
-
compare the old spark plug and the new one
-
Compatibility will be inquired at the time of purchase. Here we see that the new spark plug has 4 electrodes while the old one only has one. It does not matter. The number of electrodes will not affect performance or consumption in any way.
-
-
-
present the candle
-
There are magnetic sockets that make installation easier.
-
tighten by hand
-
There should be no resistance at first. If the spark plug is straining, loosen and try tightening again.
-
finish tightening with a torque wrench, torque of 28 Nm
-
-
-
present the ignition harness on the spark plug
-
A thin layer of dielectric grease can be applied to the spark plug.
-
and press
-
-
-
proceed in the same way for the other 3 candles
-
Do not hesitate to remove the beams from their support to be able to access the spark plugs, we will put them back in place later
