Introduction

This tutorial explains how to replace the 4 spark plugs on Peugeot Expert 1.6i Petrol. Very simple to do because it is easy to access on this engine.

  1.
The 4 spark plugs are located on the engine block towards the front of the vehicle.

To remove the 4 spark plugs, I recommend doing them one by one, which avoids reversing the cables and limits the introduction of impurities into each cylinder.

  2.
Allow the engine to cool before any intervention to avoid the risk of burns and for safety wear gloves.

Disconnect the spark plug wire by pulling on the cap, not on the wire which could damage it.

Loosen the spark plug using a spark plug wrench or a ratchet with a 16mm long socket.

Check that the new spark plug matches the old one in terms of thread diameter and electrode gap according to the manufacturer's instructions, in our case 0.9mm.

Blow a jet of air inside the well using a blower to remove any deposits in the cylinder.

Put the new spark plug in and screw it in by hand, then finish tightening moderately with the wrench.

If you have a torque wrench, you can tighten it to the 25Nm torque recommended by Peugeot.

    • Do the same for the other 3 candles which do not pose any particular difficulty.
