Changing the rear silencer on a Mini

Remove the 8 plate screws holding the exhaust silent blocks

Remove the plate

Apply penetrating oil to the two screws attaching the catalytic converter to the rest of the exhaust.

Unscrew the screws using a ratchet and a 15 socket.

Place the jack under the muffler to prevent it from falling.

Remove the clamp holding the silencer

Remove the collar once unscrewed

Remove the silentbloc holding the silencer by pulling on it with a hook

Remove the silencer

Compare the dimensions of the new muffler with the old one

Compare exhaust line length

Compare necklaces

Some mufflers do not have the sports tip, you can recover it from the old exhaust and place it on the new one just by removing the screw holding it in place with an allen key

Remove the silent blocks from the old exhaust and place them on the new exhaust

Repeat the same operation on the silencer collar

Place the silentblocs of the silencer at the rear with its 2 nuts

Place the new gasket between the two parts of the exhaust

Mount the silencer using a jack

Place the two parts of the clamp on the silencer and connect them with the two screws at each end.

Place the two nuts between the two pipes and tighten them

Replace the plate with the silentblocs and tighten the eight nuts
