Raise the front of the car to give yourself enough room to work.

Reference of your new coil. Here it is a BOSCH 0 221 503 490.

Type the reference of your old coil on oscaro.com (for me 155010 BOUGICORD brand) and check which of these 3 references yours corresponds to.

The coil is attached to the engine, accessed by going under the car. It is located just above the oil filter.

Note the order of connection of your cables which should match when reassembling.

I don't know by which miracle you can actually manage to remove the screws. I lifted the car on ramps but the access is limited, you have to find the screws blindly and as the access is limited there is no space to apply enough torque to unscrew the screws. I would love to see someone doing this in 30 min, I have spent more than this just trying to get access to one screw and trying to unscrew it...

Thank you very much for this tutorial without which I don't think I would have embarked on dismantling this coil.

It's not difficult (when the screws are not a problem ;-)) but you really can't see much. The screws are invisible and the disassembly/reassembly is done almost blindly.

Note in step 3 that it is unnecessary to remove the connector at this stage. It is indeed easier to remove the clip and the connector once the 4 fixing screws are removed and the coil is hanging.

No, it is not necessary.

Sincerely

Good morning,

For this operation, do you have to remove the oil filter which is blocking access?

THANKS,

Thierry
