Replacing the glow plugs on Audi A3 Series 2 1.9 TDi 105cv

You need a torque wrench. An extension and a 10 hollow socket (to allow the spark plug head to pass through)

4 new spark plugs

Remove the engine cover (clipped).

We can distinguish the ignition ramp from the spark plugs.

To disconnect the ignition rail, apply pressure to each of the spark plugs and pull it towards you (unclip starting from the left).

Unscrew the 4 spark plugs counterclockwise.

New spark plugs / Used spark plugs

Insert the 4 new spark plugs by hand or using pliers.

Screw them in by hand until they stop without forcing.

Tighten the 4 spark plugs.

They must be tightened to 15Nm using the torque wrench.

Both photos represent a tightening of 15Nm (approximately 1/8 turn by hand).

Be careful, overtightening could cause the spark plug to break or damage the engine threads.

Replace the ignition rail starting from the right (reverse direction of disassembly).

Test the spark plugs for proper operation by starting the engine.

Reinstall the engine cover.
