  1. Undo the 4 clamps on the diesel hoses Remove the 4 fuel filter fasteners with a flat screwdriver Loosen the fuel filter

    • Loosen the fuel filter

    • Remove the fuel filter

    • Check the correspondence between the new filter and the old fuel filter

  2. Pull the clips with pliers Pull the connector upwards
    • Pull the clips with pliers

    • Pull the connector upwards

    • Reposition the connector in the correct direction on the new diesel filter without forgetting the clips

    • Perform this operation over a tray

  3. Carefully follow the direction of the arrows on the fuel filter Reconnect the hoses: the return hose (blue arrow)

    • Reconnect the hoses:

    • the return hose (blue arrow)

    • The inlet hose (white arrow)

    • The return hose

  4. Remove the cap Connect the primer bulb Pump the fuel bulb until the fuel runs out.
    • Remove the cap

    • Connect the primer bulb

    • Pump the fuel bulb until the fuel runs out.

    • Remove the hose from the primer bulb

    • Replace the fastener to tighten the fuel filter

  5. Insert the outlet hose (white arrow) Clean the fuel filter with a rag Replace the fastener to tighten the diesel filter
    • Insert the outlet hose (white arrow)

    • Clean the fuel filter with a rag

    • Replace the fastener to tighten the diesel filter

    • Snap it down and then screw it in

    • Reposition the clamps to hold the hoses

    • Proceed to start the engine

Very good tutorial

On the other hand, for filling the diesel filter, I have a fuel pump.

So no need for a bulb to fill the filter.

I don't know if all Golf 4s have it?

Having followed and carried out each step in order but my vehicle only started for a few seconds and nothing more. The filter jar was full, no answers to my problem after repeating the operation twice, the vehicle still does not restart.
