Replacing the diesel filter on Peugeot 207 1.6 HDI FAP 92cv

I have already glued the rod back together with glue3 while waiting to buy the part from Peugeot. This quarter turn is a great suggestion..; thank you

Good morning,

I confirm the previous comment, you have to be very careful with the small plastic rod that blocks the purge. Once broken, you will no longer be able to prime the fuel circuit. So before disassembling, I strongly advise you to do the 1/4 turn which allows you to lift the rod and thus remove the fuel filter support more easily. Otherwise, it systematically breaks.

To reassemble, place the new filter correctly, tighten the three screws and then do the 1/4 in the opposite direction to fill the hole.

Good morning,

Thank you very much for your advice. If I understand correctly, to avoid breaking the rod, the sensor must be in the low position (rod raised for diesel evacuation) when removing the old filter, then reassembling the new one, screwing in the torx and finally turning the sensor 1/4 turn upwards to close the evacuation?

Be careful with the rod (passing through the center of the filter) it is extremely fragile if it breaks you will no longer be able to prime the diesel because it blocks the air purge and it has a lot of trouble getting into its notch. You can remove it from the support (1/4 turn then pull) after removing the old filter. And put it back in last without forcing by making it go into its notch without fear.

I'm telling you this because it happened to me and what a hassle it was (the filter support is only sold at Peugeot and you won't find the rod alone; value around €180 :/) A parts salesman for Peugeot professionals confirmed to me that he regularly sold them to neuroto and feuver because their mechanics broke them too.

A word to the wise. Otherwise, for the rest, good tutorial.
