Changing the fuel filter on Clio 2

To begin, open the hood. If your vehicle has one, you can remove the engine cover, this will make things easier. To do this, simply pull on it.

Locate the fuel filter.

And note or photograph the color code present on the filter and cables.

Using a screwdriver or your fingers, press the colored buttons while pulling on the cables to disconnect them.

Be careful, fuel may leak!

Some vehicles have a plug that detects the presence of water in the filter. Located on the side, don't forget to unplug it. Fuel may leak, have a basin ready!

Once all cables are removed, pull the filter out of the rails holding it.

Remove it without tilting it to prevent fuel from leaking. Use the caps from the new filter to plug the holes.

Check that the old and new filters are the same.

Replace the new filter by fitting the bottom first and then the top into the rails.

Make sure it is pushed all the way in.

Replace the cables in the correct locations (pay attention to the colors!) and press firmly so that they clip into place.

Locate the primer bulb.

Pump the bulb until it hardens and you no longer see bubbles in the clear tubes.

Try to start it. If the car sputters, pump again. If it starts normally, hold it for a few seconds at 2000 rpm and you're good to go!

Replace the engine cover (taking care to ensure that the silent blocks are properly seated).

And there you have it, a brand new fuel filter!
