Remove the wiper arms

Remove the 2 caps and loosen the nuts with a 16 wrench

Lift the wiper arms up and shake them firmly to detach them from the axle

Remove the seal on each side of the windshield bay corner

Remove the windshield bay by unclipping it upwards

The shock absorber head is visible

Withdraw les biellettes de barre stabilisatrice with the 16 key and a T30 Torx

Loosen the lower screw of the shock absorber with the 16 wrench and remove the

With the help of a third person, separate the shock absorber from the hub carrier by pressing on le triangle using a sturdy bar.

Rotate back to spread the spindle and remove the shock absorber
-

-
Check that le cardan did not come out of the gearbox during the previous step
-
-
-
Loosen the cup nut using a 21 wrench and a 7 Allen key to hold the shock rod which could turn when loosening
-
Before completely removing the nut, hold the shock absorber from underneath to prevent it from falling.

-
Placer le compresse-ressort, release the stop nut then compress the spring until the pressure against the stop is released
-

-
Withdraw la buttée and its whole
-
Separate the spring from the shock absorber
-
-
-
Position the spring on the shock absorber
-
Insert the stop pad
-
-
-
Fit the bellows under the shock absorber stop before putting it on
-
Place the stop on the top of the spring
-
-
-
Place the thrust washer
-
Close the assembly with the shock absorber sole and bring the nut as close as possible
-
-
-
Bring the bottom end of the spring up against the heel of l'amortisseur before completely decompressing the spring
-
Lock the nut once the spring is completely decompressed
-
-
-
Reassemble everything in reverse order of steps.

The rim is placed on the inside of the hole
-
-
-
Tip to perfectly adjust your wiper arms, before locking the nut, align the end of the blade with the mark on the windshield

It is impossible to remove the shock absorber without removing the lower ball joint, the steering rod and the hub.

Please note some significant gaps during reassembly, carefully align the guide on the shock absorber in the vertical slot on the spindle.

Good morning,
thanks for the tutorial but I have a question when you say “The rim is placed on the inside of the hole” does that mean the rim will be on the engine side?
Because on my c3 this edge is on the wing side and I wonder if that has an impact.

Thanks for this great tutorial, however, is it necessary to do a parallelism after the operation as described in the tutorial or if we remove the lower ball joint from the pivot?
