Introduction

This tutorial explains how to access and change a front position light lamp on scenic 2.

Parts

  1. Photo 1: We observe that the passenger side light bulb is no longer working. After switching off the ignition, we unlock the hood using the lever in the passenger compartment. Photo 2: we also pull the small tab at the grille (orange arrow) to free the hood opening.

    • Do not forget to lock the hood in the open position using the prop attached to the inside of the hood.

  2. Photo 1: From the engine compartment, access the position light bulb housing by turning the plastic cap counterclockwise (red arrows). Photo 2: we then access the socket which we release from the headlight lens by a counterclockwise rotation (orange arrows). Note the notches which will allow the previously removed cap to be repositioned (blue arrows) Photo 3: you can then remove the socket from the optics and remove the defective bulb by rotating it counterclockwise.

  3. Photo 1: At the top, the defective bulb: the glass is blackened and the filament broken. At the bottom, the new bulb with identical references H6W. Photo 2: The H6W bulb base has 2 positioning lugs in the socket (orange arrows). Avoid forcing the insertion into the socket. Photo 3: Inner part of the socket. The fixing notches for the lugs are indicated by the yellow arrows. Screw the bulb a quarter turn into the socket.

  4. Photo 1: after having fixed the new bulb in the socket, we will fix the socket in the optic by screwing it a quarter turn (clockwise). Photo 2: once the socket is fixed in the optic, we memorize the positions of the notches which will be used to position the plastic cap (orange arrows). Photo 3: the cap lugs (yellow arrows) are placed in the notches, then screwed in a quarter turn (clockwise). The bulb replacement is complete. Test for proper operation before closing the hood.
