How to change front brake discs and pads on Citroën C5 II

Using a flat screwdriver , lever the caliper spring to relax it.

Pull it to remove it

Loosen the disk screws using a T30 Torx key

Remove the screws from the disc

-
Remove the two caps from the caliper columns by simply pulling on them
-

Using a ratchet and a 7 mm Allen socket, unscrew the caliper columns without removing them.

Place a flathead screwdriver between the disc and the pad to push the caliper piston back by levering it with the screwdriver.
-
This allows you to avoid using a piston pusher.

Place the caliper on the strut or hang it so as not to damage the brake hose.
-

-
Unscrew and remove the screws from the yoke using the ratchet and a 55 Torx socket.

If necessary, tap the disc with a mallet to free it.
-
Pull the disc out of the hub
-

Compare the dimensions of the new discs with the old ones as well as the number of holes for the retaining screws.

Place the disc on the hub
-
Rotate the disc on the hub to align the retaining screw holes
-

-
Replace the retaining screws on the disc and tighten them using the T30 Torx key

-
Apply brake cleaner and rub with a cloth to remove the layer of paraffin present on the disc

-
Replace the pad in the caliper, the pad hook in the piston
-
Force the plate to insert it
-
-
-
Replace the spring on the caliper starting from the top or bottom
-
Place the second part using a mallet
