Introduction
With this tutorial changing the front brake pads on Nissan Qashqai Phase 2 2.0 dCi DPF 2WD 150 cv (J10E) 2W, you will be able to change your front brake pads
-
-
First, loosen the wheel bolts of the car on the ground.
-
-
-
Place the car on a jack stand so that you can remove the wheel. First, place the jack under your car (with a board so as not to push anything in) and once the wheel is raised, place the jack stand under the car.
-
Unscrew the nuts and remove the wheel to access the disc-pads
-
-
-
We're going to push the pistons back, so the fluid will go into the brake fluid reservoir, if you don't remove this cap, you'll have trouble pushing them back!
-
Open the hood and unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
-
-
-
Here is the caliper, unscrew the bottom bolt to rotate it 180°
-
Rotate the stirrup
-
-
-
We can see the old pads (there is 1 mm of material left above the indicator...)
-
Remove the old pads by moving them to the side
-
-
-
Here are the new pads , you just need to clip the clips provided on top
-
First, take the new pad and engage one of its "ears" into the caliper bracket clips then engage its second "ear". Make sure it is properly engaged by checking that it touches the disc evenly.
-
Do the same for the second plate
-
-
-
Here is the brake caliper piston, as the pads wear, it must come out more and more from its housing to compensate for the loss of material on the pads. As we are putting in new pads, therefore with no loss of material, therefore necessarily thicker, we must therefore push the piston back.
-
To push your piston back, you will need a clamp and a piece of wood (important, do not press the clamp directly on your caliper or you will damage it)
-
Now that your piston is back in, we can move on to the next step which is to put the caliper back on its support.
-
-
-
Before putting the caliper back on its support, remember to grease the slides (not the discs or pads with grease!). To do this, pull on the rods where the caliper is screwed to be able to grease them (essential for the brakes to work properly).
-
Put the caliper back in place and screw in its bolt (tighten moderately)
-
-
-
That's it, you're done! All you have to do now is put the wheel back on and tighten the nuts.
-
Once you've finished one side, you do the other. It's exactly the same procedure!
-
Put the car back on its wheels and tighten the wheel nuts securely.
-
Once both sides are finished, remember to pump your brake pedal then check your brake fluid level and close the cap

Thanks for the tutorial and for the disk change do you have a link?
Good morning
I would like to change the rear pads on a Qashqai phase 2 connected with electric handbrake.
Does he have a trick to get the pistons in?
Thanks in advance
Great tutorial but it is not necessarily useful to open your brake fluid container (Done on Scenic and Koleos)
For the rear brakes it is the same.
Thank you for your tutorials, they are TOP
Hello, same principle on Nissan Juke. The assembly is identical…
THANK YOU not a car mechanic at all thanks to this tutorial, I saved 65 euros!!! Thank you!!!
