    • To change the diesel filter on the c-max 1.6 TDCI you will need around 50cl of clean diesel.

    • When you go to put fuel in the car beforehand, remember to take a small plastic bottle with you to fill it up.

Remove the 3 8mm bolts to remove the fuel filter retaining bracket.

Disconnect the electrical outlet as well as the inlet and return hoses by pressing the white buttons.

    • In fact, on this PSA engine, Ford did not integrate a primer bulb to fill the filter.

    • Once filled, screw the 2 torx screws back in and insert the filter into its location.

    • Connect the 2 pipes as well as the electrical outlet.

    • Secure the retaining plate with the 3 8mm screws.

While following this tutorial I encountered a difficulty, the re-priming of the diesel circuit.

Here's how I ended up doing it.

Follow the part for filling the new filter and replace the black part.

Unscrew the bleed screw of the old filter, and use the trickle of GO that flows to fill the 2 holes where the 2 hoses are connected.

Use the thread of GO from the old filter to fill the hose that goes to the injectors. This allows you to expel as much air as possible.

Very quickly reconnect the 2 hoses and put the filter back in place.

Press the starter for a few seconds and it's done.
