Introduction
Work carried out on a 2002 Ford Fiesta 1.3 60hp with Endura-E engine and equipped with air conditioning.
Changing the radiator involves bleeding the system. I chose a HELLA radiator reference 8MK 376 714-061.
This is a car that I bought second-hand, I have neither a user manual nor a technical guide, so I don't know the capacities or the tightening torques.
After changing the water pump, the thermostat and its housing I had a leak at the hose that comes out of the thermostat housing. Leak present only when the circuit is under pressure never when stopped. Everything being new I therefore decided to change the cooling radiator thinking that it was clogged.
Remember to use coolant that meets the manufacturer's standards.
Replacing this part was boring if you have the choice have it done by a mechanic.

-
Place your drain pan under the drain plug.
-
Using a flat screwdriver, open the cap to bleed the circuit.
-
-
-
There are 2 connections. For both, simply lift the tab and pull.
-
Spread the cables apart.
-
-
-
Using multi-grip pliers, slide the hose clamp then remove the radiator hose.
-
-
-
Here's what to do now:
-
Remove the fan.
-
Remove the cooling radiator.
-
These 2 pieces are placed on a crosspiece.
-
The fan has 2 lugs at the bottom and 2 at the top.
-
The cooling radiator has 2 pads at the bottom and 2 at the top
-
The radiator is still held by the 2 remaining hoses.
-
-
-
Before removing the crosspiece, place shims underneath so that the assembly does not fall suddenly.
-
The crosspiece is held by 2 screws on each side.
-
Use a 10mm socket to remove the screws
-
Except for this one for which you need a 10mm socket wrench because of the boss which prevents the use of a socket.

-
Hold the assembly with one hand then remove a shim to lower the assembly then place it on the new shim.
-
Be careful, once the 2 upper lugs are out of their housings, the fan can tilt.
-
Once the assembly is stable, lift the fan out of its lower lugs and then remove it completely by passing it from underneath.
-
Do not damage the cables, especially the lambda sensor cables.

-
The air conditioning radiator is fixed to the cooling radiator by 2 lugs located at the top of the latter.

-
Cooling radiator leg.
-
To separate them, you have to lift the air conditioning radiator while holding the cooling radiator.
-
Now you have enough slack to run the pliers through and remove the 2 remaining hoses.

Collect the 4 silentblocs (2 at the top and 2 at the bottom) from the old part then place them on the new one.

-
There is no bleeder screw on this model. The expansion tank being the highest point the air escapes through the return pipe.
-
Fill the jar to the max level and check that there are no leaks at the hose and the drain plug.
-
Start the engine and let it run.
-
Now that the fluid is under pressure and circulating, check again for leaks at the hoses and drain plug.
-
Let the temperature rise until the cooling fan starts.
-
Wait for the engine to cool down and then top up. The level should be between the Min and Max marks.
-
Finally, when blowing into the expansion tank, I heard air coming out through the hose at the thermostat. In fact, it was this collar that was not tightening enough, I replaced it with a screwed-on clamp.
