Changing the cigarette lighter bulb on a Peugeot 206

Press the leather outline of the gear lever gaiter on the ashtray side, towards the gear lever.

Then lift it up.

The bellows is fully raised.

Remove the cigarette lighter (moving part).

Remove the window regulator housing by sliding a thin tool above the exterior mirror adjustment wheel. Use lever to unclip it.

The case is removed.

disconnect the first connector by pressing the clip.

Rotate the lever.

The connector slides out and you just have to remove it.

Press the clip.

Pull the connector to disconnect it.

L'ampoule is in the dark room.

It is clipped at the top and bottom (slide).

To remove this part, you must slide a flat, thin tool between this black part and the block of the cigarette lighter orange, and turn the tool to separate the 2 pieces.

And the black piece unclips.

Here is the disassembled part, we can see the bulb fixed to the gray part clipped into the black part.

You have to move your fingers away from the black piece.

Then remove the gray part by unclipping it.

Then the gray bulb holder comes out.

Remove the defective bulb by pulling on it.

Comparison of new bulb and defective bulb

The bulb to use is a 12V 1.2w

Once the bulb is changed, reassemble the gray part in the black part.

Move the small metal tab away from the support.

Lower the metal tab between the 2 black tabs so that it protrudes.

Risk that they will no longer be in contact when reassembled and that the current will not flow.

Replace the black part by sliding it onto the cigarette lighter at the bottom.

Clip on top.

Check that the light works again. Then reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
