Introduction
How to change the cabin filter on a Skoda Fabia 1.6 TDi 75

Several "ranges" of cabin filters exist (all compatible):
-
simple
-
activated carbon (will capture odors)
-
anti-allergens (also have products that reduce allergies...)
-
Prices range from 10 to 20€
-
-
-
Open the passenger door, the filter housing is located under the glove box.
-
To remove the filter, you have to remove a protective cover, a sort of carpet in fact! It is framed in red in the 3rd photo.
-
-
-
Access is really not easy, you will have to contort yourself to be able to locate it, especially since this carpet partially hides it.
-
-
-
We start by removing this "carpet". It is not stapled, it is just fixed with small advances arranged in a staggered pattern (one above, one below).
-
Once removed, we see the plastic casing (3rd photo).
-
-
-
The filter "housing" can be removed by bringing the two pieces at the ends together.
-
They just slide in with a little pressure.
-
So you have to bring them closer to the center, and at that moment, the crankcase is released (it falls!).
-
The 3rd photo shows the manipulation that must be done to free the filter from its housing.
-
-
-
Inspecting the old filter, we see that dust and leaves have become trapped inside.
-
Comparison of the two filters: same dimensions, they are indeed the same!
-
Please note that there is a direction to put the filter. You must respect the direction of the air flow.
-
The direction of flow is indicated on the edge of the filter.
-
-
-
We replace the new filter on the crankcase. We re-center the two parts (which may have fallen) in the center.
-
Then we proceed in reverse: we insert the filter (with its certer) into its housing.
-
-
-
Once the crankcase is in position, the two center pieces need to be pushed to the ends.
-
They allow the filter to be fitted onto the slide.
-
-
-
Then we put the “carpet” back!
-
That's it, you'll be breathing clean air!
