Introduction

Changing the battery on a Peugeot 5008 2.0 HDi 150 Cv

Allow half an hour to an hour to replace the used battery, as well as the necessary tools: a 10 socket wrench, a 13 socket wrench, a Phillips screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver, a 20 Torx screwdriver.

Think about protection (gloves, glasses)

  1. Open the hood and access the engine Remove the 2 screws from the brake fluid reservoir and place it to the side Remove the 2 screws from the brake fluid reservoir and place it to the side

    • Remove the 2 nuts from the cables and disconnect the connector

  4. Using a flat screwdriver, release the first retaining lug on the top of the block Unlock the second retaining lug, then slide the block upwards Place the fuse block to the side so it is not in the way.
    • Using a flat screwdriver, release the first retaining lug on the top of the block

    • Unlock the second retaining lug, then slide the block upwards

    • Place the fuse block to the side so it is not in the way.

  5. Unclip the cable fixing (the fixing is quite flexible, it is possible to pass it under the cables from the side) Remove the battery cover (you have to pull quite hard, the front upwards, then towards you) Battery access is released
    • Unclip the cable fixing (the fixing is quite flexible, it is possible to pass it under the cables from the side)

    • Remove the battery cover (you have to pull quite hard, the front upwards, then towards you)

    • Battery access is released

  6. Disconnect the cables, the nut holding the battery and the negative terminal with a 10 wrench. Remove the nut on the lower/left side of the battery Remove the battery
    • Disconnect the cables, the nut holding the battery and the negative terminal with a 10 wrench.

    • Remove the nut on the lower/left side of the battery

    • Remove the battery

  7. Remove the old battery Replace it with the new one
    • Remove the old battery

    • Replace it with the new one

    • View of the new battery in place

  8. Screw the fixing nut at the bottom left of the battery Reconnect the wiring and tighten the negative terminal fixing nuts
    • Screw the fixing nut at the bottom left of the battery

    • Reconnect the wiring and tighten the negative terminal fixing nuts

  9. Reposition the wiring and fixing in front of the battery Replace the fastener Replace the fuse block
    • Reposition the wiring and fixing in front of the battery

    • Replace the fastener

    • Replace the fuse block

  10. Replace the connector Screw the two nuts Fix the battery cover
    • Replace the connector

    • Screw the two nuts

    • Fix the battery cover

  11. Industries la borne positive (+) Replace the top part of the air filter and tighten the 4 screws Connect the air inlet, connector, wiring and tighten the mounting clamp
    • Industries la borne positive (+)

    • Replace the top part of the air filter and tighten the 4 screws

    • Connect the air inlet, connector, wiring and tighten the mounting clamp

  12. Replace the brake fluid reservoir Fix the two screws END
    • Replace the brake fluid reservoir

    • Fix the two screws

    • END
