Introduction

This tutorial helps you to change the battery on Seat Ibiza IV 1.4 TDi FAP 80 cv

  1. Battery location Cosse positive
    • Battery location

    • Cosse positive

    • Negative terminal

  2. Start by unscrewing the nut of the negative terminal with the 10 mm socket. Do the same with the positive terminal Do the same with the positive terminal
    • Start by unscrewing the nut of the negative terminal with the 10 mm socket.

    • Do the same with the positive terminal

  3. Unscrew the battery retaining plate nut with a ratchet extension and a 13 mm socket Remove the battery and clean its support if necessary. Compare the new battery and the old one

    • Compare the new battery and the old one

  4. Check that the negative and positive terminals are in the correct place. Screw the battery retaining plate back on

  5. Start by reconnecting and screwing back the negative terminal Reconnect and screw the positive terminal back on. Reconnect and screw the positive terminal back on.
    • Start by reconnecting and screwing back the negative terminal

Hello, logically we reconnect in reverse of disassembly...

we always finish with the negative terminal because if we put the car back to ground first, the slightest contact with the bodywork or anything else when tightening the positive terminal is an electric shock!
