Introduction
We work with the ignition off, gloves and protective glasses.
Batteries often have dates, we will make sure to take a very recent battery. Keep the invoice carefully because there is a 2 to 3 year guarantee.

the negative terminal is on the right when standing in front of the car
-
It is represented by the symbol - , the associated color is often black
-
the positive terminal is on the left when standing in front of the car
-
it is represented by the symbol +, the associated color is often red
-
Do not reverse the polarities under any circumstances, as this could cause significant damage (starter, alternator, engine harness, computers, etc.).
-
-
-
unscrew the nut of the negative terminal using a 10mm wrench
-
remove the pod
-
and put it well away
-
We always start with the negative terminal.

-
-
unscrew the nut of the positive terminal using an 8mm wrench

-
unscrew the battery mounting bracket using a 13mm wrench

The Dacia Logan 1.4mpi requires a battery for a L01 type tray and a B13 type mounting flange. It is best to call a professional if in doubt. That said, before reassembling, we will check the following things:
-
compare the size: this is, with the tension, the most important element (especially the width in fact)
-
compare the orientation of the terminals (there are inverted +)
-
compare values. you need to know what you are talking about:
-
12V is the battery voltage, the new battery should be MANDATORY and 12 volts
-
60Ah is the battery capacity
-
480A is the starting current, the energy supplied by the battery which will activate the starter
-
It is unlikely that your new battery will have the same values as the old one. This is not a problem. As long as the voltage is 12 volts and the other values are not too far off, no problem.
-
-
-
introduce the new battery, taking care to hold it straight and orient it correctly (negative terminal to the right)
-
you will have to insert the edge of the battery into the two lugs of the battery tray
-
check that the battery is fully seated
-
-
-
put in place the positive terminal and tighten using the 8mm wrench
-
Of course, the caps on the terminals will have been removed if there were any.
-
put in place the negative terminal and tighten using the 10mm wrench
-
-
-
start the car and check that everything works
-
you will need to set the time and unlock the car radio if it is the original one
-
-
-
Several solutions are available to you
-
you can take the battery to the recycling center
-
you can take the battery to a recycling center that will give you a sum in exchange
-
you can have the old battery taken back when you buy the new one
