Introduction

Procedure for changing the air filter on Peugeot 207 phase 1 1.6 HDi 16V 90 hp

  1. 
Open the hood.

Locate the air filter. It is located at the rear of the engine.
    • Open the hood.

    • Locate the air filter. It is located at the rear of the engine.

    • Remove the engine cover, it is fixed by 4 lugs, pull upwards for each of them.

Remove the air duct.

Shift the lug to the left and pull the lower conduit towards you.

Unclip the central lug.
    • Remove the air duct.

    • Shift the lug to the left and pull the lower conduit towards you.

    • Unclip the central lug.

    • Unclip the upper part by pulling upwards and remove the conduit.

Remove the turbo hose.

Loosen the turbo side clamp using multi-grip pliers and pull the hose to the right.

Loosen the clamp on the flow meter side using a flat screwdriver.
    • Remove the turbo hose.

    • Loosen the turbo side clamp using multi-grip pliers and pull the hose to the right.

    • Loosen the clamp on the flow meter side using a flat screwdriver.

    • Remove the hose by pulling towards you.

  4. 
Locate the 3 screws securing the air filter cover.

Do not hesitate to unclip the primer bulb to have better access to the screws.

    • Locate the 3 screws securing the air filter cover.

Make sure the car ignition is switched off.

Disconnect the flow meter connector.

Unscrew the 3 screws using a 4 Allen key, lift the cover upwards and pull it towards you to remove it.
    • Make sure the car ignition is switched off.

    • Disconnect the flow meter connector.

    • Unscrew the 3 screws using a 4 Allen key, lift the cover upwards and pull it towards you to remove it.

    • Remove the used air filter.

  6. 
Check the correspondence of the new air filter

Do not hesitate to blow out the air filter housing.

Place the new filter in its location.

Reassemble the cover, starting by inserting the rear lugs into their locations.

Tighten and secure the 3 cover fixing screws using the Allen key.

Replace the air filter housing on the front lugs.
    • Reassemble the cover, starting by inserting the rear lugs into their locations.

    • Tighten and secure the 3 cover fixing screws using the Allen key.

    • Replace the air filter housing on the front lugs.

    • Connect the flow meter connector.

  8. 
Reclip the primer bulb.

Reassemble the turbo hose by following step #3 in reverse order.
    • Reclip the primer bulb.

    • Reassemble the turbo hose by following step #3 in reverse order.

    • Reassemble the air duct by following step #2 in reverse order.

    • Replace the engine cover by pressing on the 4 lugs.

    • Close the hood.
