Introduction
Tutorial made on Ford Fiesta IV Phase 2 1.3i 60cv 1999-2002 : Here we will replace the air filter. Very simple to do and in just a few minutes.
Tools
Parts
-
-
The air filter is located in the air box located in the engine compartment next to the battery.
-
The air box cover is held in place by 4 size 25 Torx screws, so a T25 Torx screwdriver is required.
-
Locate the 4 screws holding the air box cover.
-
-
-
Using a Torx T25 screwdriver, loosen the 4 screws holding the air box cover.
-
Opening the air box, although hindered by the battery holder, is possible without dismantling the latter by following the steps below.
-
Lift the air box cover slightly.
-
Tilt the air box cover toward the front of the vehicle.
-
-
-
You can now lift the cover completely and remove the air filter.
-
Clean the inside of the air box using a blower or vacuum cleaner.
-
-
-
Check that the new filter matches the length, width and thickness.
-
-
-
Place the new filter inside the air box, making sure to position it correctly.
-
Replace the air box cover and tighten the 4 torx screws.

Hello, thanks for this tutorial! I have a Ford Fiesta IV 1.25 16v and my filter is not located where you indicate. So I don't know where it is located. Can you help me?
Thank you very much for your very quick response! It works so I will see that tomorrow. Because in fact I have a problem of loss of power with my car, so I changed my spark plugs and unfortunately the loss of power is still present and when I am stationary my car tends to make noises “Pouk Pouk Pouk” as if it was going to stall. If someone would have a solution to my problem please.
