Introduction

This tutorial shows how to change the TDC sensor on Partner 1.9d (DW8).

The tachometer was working erratically and the injection advance regulation was not working properly.

It is not always easy to get clear photos but you will be able to locate the sensor throughout this tutorial by taking the vacuum pump as a reference point.

  1. 
The TDC sensor is located in the area circled in red

grab the electrical harness

and unclip it

slightly lift the tab of the socket (you can use a flat screwdriver)

and pull back

release the sensor retaining screw using a 10mm flat wrench

Sometimes the sensor is just dirty and a simple cleaning is enough to fix the problem

we can check the resistance of the sensor which must be 400 Ohms

put the sensor in place

Do not drop it.
