Introduction

This tutorial shows you how to change the front brake discs and pads on TOYOTA, Verso 1.6 VVT-i 132 16V

  1. Slightly loosen the 5 wheel nuts. Securing the vehicle: removing and refitting the wheel Remove the 5 nuts and remove the wheel.

  3. If you cannot pull the disc, you must put 2 8*20 screws in the 2 holes provided to extract the disc. Clean the hub with the wire brush. Fit the new disc and to prevent it from slipping, put a wheel nut on it.

  4. Clean everything with brake cleaner Fit the pad with the wear indicator on the inside. Put the other plate

  5. Reassemble the caliper support, as well as the caliper, remembering to tighten the screws securely. Pump the brake pedal gently to ensure good braking. Tighten the 5 wheel fixing nuts and put on the hubcap.

It would be useful to put some fine oil under the dust seal of the brake piston to prevent seizure. You need two people, one with multi-grip pliers and the other inside to pump gently two or three times to be able to replace the piston and then reassemble the pads.

Hello. At no point did you indicate that it was necessary to push the piston back in order to correctly insert the pads + discs with the new dimensions. This may be missing information.

PI: I'm going to do this operation on my 2.0 D4D 126 arriving at 98000 km. I'm torn because the condition of the discs is still within the standards but with the new MOT I feel that this could cause problems :)
