Introduction

Be sure to inquire about the compatibility of the new part as several models exist. Do not hesitate to contact a professional if in doubt.

  1. 
unscrew the terminal - from the battery

and put it aside

open the grommet

and put the choke cable and the accelerator cable to the side

remove the hot air hose

undo the collar of the sleeve, 7mm key

dislodge the air line from the sleeve
    • remove the hot air hose

    • undo the collar of the sleeve, 7mm key

    • dislodge the air line from the sleeve

  4. 
turn the air line clip 1/4 turn

and push the whole thing to the right

to obtain correct access to the coil
    • turn the air line clip 1/4 turn

    • and push the whole thing to the right

  5. 
lever with a small flat screwdriver on the black tab

and pull up

to release the TDC sensor
    • lever with a small flat screwdriver on the black tab

disconnect the coil harness by pulling outwards

remove the rubber cap from the socket by pulling outwards

unplug the plug by pulling outwards
    • disconnect the coil harness by pulling outwards

    • remove the rubber cap from the socket by pulling outwards

    • unplug the plug by pulling outwards

unscrew the front retaining screw, 10mm wrench

unscrew the retaining screw on the side, still with a 10mm key

remove the coil
    • unscrew the front retaining screw, 10mm wrench

    • unscrew the retaining screw on the side, still with a 10mm key

    • remove the coil

unscrew the 4 coil fixing screws using the T20 torx key

while holding the nut on the other side, 7mm wrench

remove the coil
    • unscrew the 4 coil fixing screws using the T20 torx key

    • while holding the nut on the other side, 7mm wrench

    • remove the coil

    • Make sure to note the assembly direction.

present the new coil in the correct direction

put the screws in place (screws and washers on top, nuts on the bottom)

Tighten the screws with the T20 torx key while at the same time locking the nuts using the 7mm key

put the coil in place

screw in the front screw by hand

screw the screw on the side by hand
    • put the coil in place

    • screw in the front screw by hand

    • Make sure to put the tab back against the spool (blue arrow).

lock the front screw, 10mm key

Place the TDC sensor on the tab (you should hear a "click")

connect the coil plug (you should hear a "click") and make sure to put the rubber protection back in place properly

connect the ignition harness
    • Place the TDC sensor on the tab (you should hear a "click")

    • connect the ignition harness

  14. 
put the air hose back into the sleeve

put the clip back in its housing and lock by making a 1/4 turn

screw the collar, 7mm key
    • put the air hose back into the sleeve

  15. 
install the hot air pipe

put the starter and throttle cables back into the grommet and lock the clip

connect the terminal - of the battery
    • install the hot air pipe

    • put the starter and throttle cables back into the grommet and lock the clip

    • connect the terminal - of the battery

    • Start the car to make sure everything works.
