Change the fuel filter on Citroën C5 (X7) Saloon 2.0 BlueHDi 16V FAP Hydractive 150 hp

Start by removing the engine cover by pulling on it.

Loosen the clamp on the first air hose using a 7 mm socket.

Loosen the second air hose clamp using a pair of multi-grip pliers.

Remove the air outlet hose by pulling on it.

Unscrew the screw from the second air hose bracket using a 10 socket wrench.

Remove the screw from its location.

Unclip the air outlet hose

Pull the air hose out of its location

Unscrew the air box screws using a T Torx 25 screwdriver

Disconnect the air box probe.

Remove the air box cover by pulling on it.

Locate the fuel filter.

Disconnect the heater power plug

Unscrew the fuel hose from the filter.

Using a flat-head screwdriver, remove the brake vacuum hose, located at the rear of the filter.

Unlock the filter by pressing the button while lifting the filter

Disconnect the connector

Disconnect the drain hose

Remove the fuel filter.

Compare the dimensions of the new filter with the old one (dimensions, number of hoses and location of the heater).

Using a flat screwdriver, remove the heater from the old filter.

Using a flat screwdriver, remove the two heater gaskets.

Replace the two old gaskets with two new ones.

Lubricate the new seals with oil

Replace the heater on the fuel filter.

Remove the fuel filter cap.

Connect the drain hose

Plug the connector into its slot.

Replace the brake vacuum hose.

Reconnect the fuel hose.

Reconnect the power plug.

Reposition the air box cover by engaging the clips on the rear section.

Tighten the case screws with a 25 Torx

Reconnect the probe to the air box cover

Reposition the air inlet hose in its location.

Tighten the air inlet hose clamp using a pair of multi-grip pliers

Tighten the air hose clamp with a 7mm socket.

Replace the second air hose in its location.

Tighten the hose support screw with a 10 socket.

Reposition the engine cover.
