Introduction

Changing the GMV resistance which controls the 2 speeds of the engine ventilation unit on Citroën C4 1.6 HDi 16V 90cv

  1. Using a lamp, check the rotation of the engine fan through the grille.

    • Cold engine and ignition off: no rotation

    • Engine started and air conditioning off: no rotation

    • Engine started and air conditioning on: slow rotation speed

    • very hot engine: high speed rotation (noisy fan)

    • Diagnosis with manufacturer's case (done by a Citroën garage): alarm present: motor-fan speed inconsistency

  2. The sensor is located under the fan cover You need to remove the 4 clips from the top Then you will have to use the flexibility of the hood and the grille (because the attachment between the clipped grille and there is a risk of breaking the plastic tabs)

  8. Compare the 2 connectors between the 2 sensors the position of the connectors does not matter (as in the photo) Check that the sensor has the same dimension

  9. Reconnect the 2 connectors Check that the connectors are properly locked Push the 2nd lock back onto the power connector to complete the lock.

    • Insert the sensor into its housing

  10. Screw the sensor into its housing with the torx screw Replace the plastic cover around the FRIC sensor Put the plastic cover back in place

    • Replace the 4 plastic rivets

  11. Using a lamp, check that the fan is working properly (same as step 1)

Hello I have the same problem. My car runs in degraded mode, no more power. I changed the part but still the same and when I turn on the air conditioning the fan does not start I really need your advice

I have a 2007 C4 when I put the air conditioning on the fan is running but the engine is hot the fan is not running it is not falling

Hello, I have a question. The fan starts but it doesn't stop until it drains the battery. Is this the one that needs to be changed?
