Replacing the air filter on a Yaris 3 - 1.0 VVTi 12V 69 hp

  1. 
Unclip the 4 clips.

pinch the circlip by hand.

Lift the FA box and remove the box, making sure it is properly removed.
    • Unclip the 4 clips.

    • pinch the circlip by hand.

    • Lift the FA box and remove the box, making sure it is properly removed.

  2. 
Remove the old filter.

Compare the new is the old filter.

Replace the FA cover
    • Remove the old filter.

    • Compare the new is the old filter.

    • Replace the FA cover

  3. 
Replace the hose, and check that the rear of the FA is in its correct location.

Good morning,

Thank you for your tutorial which allowed me to learn more and investigate my problem.

On my Yaris 3 petrol, the air filter compartment is located at the top of the engine in a recess that goes almost under the windscreen, so it's not very easy to access.

During the last annual maintenance, Toyota incorrectly reclipped the upper air filter cover with the metal springs, which caused a rather annoying dull noise when I accelerated hard between 2500 and 3000 rpm.

Good morning,

the last photo is 1 other model of air filter of yaris 3: no serflex collar, 4 clips + 1 spring collar to be separated from the air inlet tube with small model multi pliers, be careful of the lip seal of the filter holder when refitting! lightly oil...before repositioning the spring collar, less easy...
