Introduction

Here's how to replace an air conditioning condenser with its dehydrator bottle on a Mini Cooper 1.6 i 115cv

  1. 
Unscrew the 2 Torx T30 screws

Unscrew the 2 Torx T30 screws
    • Unscrew the 2 Torx T30 screws

  2. 
Unscrew the 2 screws from the inside of the wheel arch. 8mm socket.

Unscrew the screws under the bumper. 3 x 10 mm screws and 2 x cross-head screws.
    • Unscrew the 2 screws from the inside of the wheel arch. 8mm socket.

    • Unscrew the screws under the bumper. 3 x 10 mm screws and 2 x cross-head screws.

  3. 
Unscrew 2 M8 screws, 13mm key

Unscrew the 8 M8 nuts, 13mm wrench.

Unscrew the 8 M8 nuts, 13mm wrench.
    • Unscrew 2 M8 screws, 13mm key

    • Unscrew the 8 M8 nuts, 13mm wrench.

  4. 
Check that there is no more gas in the circuit.
    • Check that there is no more gas in the circuit.

    • Always wear gloves and goggles to avoid gas projections on the skin.

    • Unscrew the bleeder screw caps, and with a large screwdriver press the valves.

    • In case your circuit is not empty. You must go to an auto center to perform a vacuum draw of the air conditioning system.

  5. 
Unscrew the 2 screws that hold the pipes on the condenser
    • Unscrew the 2 screws that hold the pipes on the condenser

    • Carefully remove the pipes.

  6. 
Undo the 2 10mm screws holding the condenser and remove it.

Remove the rubber and put it on the new condenser.
    • Undo the 2 10mm screws holding the condenser and remove it.

    • Remove the rubber and put it on the new condenser.

    • Put it all back together.

    • Refill the gas.

Could you do it on the R56 model from 2007? The case seems less simple to remove the bumper!

If the gas has just been refilled, do I have to have it emptied in a garage?
