Introduction

I have just done 20,000 km with my 2008 B-Class 180 CDI (so it's a diesel engine) and it's time for an oil change!

  1.
Open the hood and wedge it using the yellow rod.

The filler cap is located on the left of the air filter.

The cap must be removed to facilitate the flow of oil.

Slide under the car and remove the cap using a 13mm wrench.

Place a container under the hole to collect the oil.

  4.
Remove the cap, place a funnel and pour in a maximum of 5.8 litres of 5W30 engine oil to MB 129.51 standard.

I only put 5.4 liters. There is always oil left in the engine!

  5.
The oil filter is located under a plastic cover to the left of the engine.

You have to remove the air inlet collar to have more space!

With a 27 socket and an extension, you have to unscrew the plastic cover.

  10.
The oil dipstick is located on the left above the air filter housing.

Pull the gauge out.

Check the oil level, which should be between the max and min marks. The level is here. (red arrow)

Conclusion

Here I am, good for 20,000 km. But you have to check the oil level regularly!
