Introduction

Do you want to change your air filter on Peugeot 308 II in 1.6L 120CV? This tutorial will help you do it easily and quickly.

  1.
To change your air filter, you will need to open your hood using the pull tab on the left side of your footrest.

Then, gently lift the hood until it locks and you will find a tab to pull towards you to trigger its full opening.

The air filter is located under the plastic cover that is to the left of the brake fluid reservoir.

  2.
On the air filter cover you will find 3 screws that must be completely unscrewed using a TORX 30 screwdriver.

Do not try to remove them from the cover because it remains on it even if completely unscrewed.

  3.
To completely remove the cover, you need to remove the 2 connectors that are connected to it.

For the electrical connector, you have to pull on the orange tab then pull towards you to remove it completely, for the one just above you simply have to press on the clip which blocks it and pull towards you.

If the 2 takes the connector and breaks what will happen to the car?

Ah what tightens the second connector and what allows air to be sent to the gearbox will there be a loss of power or gear changes?

I'm getting my new box this Wednesday, but in the meantime can I drive with it? Does that change anything?

    Sincerely

How do you get the 2nd connector out? I've tried everything. I understand from your pictures that there are 4 tabs (inside the connector) that "hook onto a shoulder (on the tube connected to the air box housing), but these hooks don't seem to disengage.

To access the air filter, you must unclip the air pipe on the right side of the air filter support, to do this, lever it while lifting it to remove it delicately, it can be removed without forcing.

You can now completely remove the air filter cover, the air filter is now visible so remove it by lifting it up.

You can now clean the air filter compartment using a vacuum cleaner or microfiber cloth.

You can put your new air filter in place respecting its direction which is indicated on the side of it with an arrow.

Repeat the steps in reverse order to reassemble the air filter cover and complete its change.

    • During the first 3 restarts of your 308 Phase II, it will indicate on the dashboard that there is an engine problem but this is due to the disconnection of the electrical connectors, this removes itself.

I had the same problem. Do you know what it is? Dirty sensor or breather?

Hello. For my part the little nipple broke during disassembly is it dangerous or serious? What is it for exactly because no indicator lights up or anything. Thank you

Thank you for your explanation for changing the air filter on a DS3 phase II 100 BlueHDI from 2016. I also did not manage to remove the connection from the clogging indicator and despite this I was able to change my filter.

THANKS

Hello, the connection located above the flow meter socket seems to be the fouling indicator. According to you, there is only the nipple above to push in? There are also 2 small tabs to spread or compress but it seems rather fragile and brittle. I will try again with a little penetrating oil to facilitate the maneuver thank you for your very well done tutorial

Good morning,

I also couldn't remove it, by pulling a little I was able to remove the cover while keeping the connection.
