Introduction
Here are the steps to take to change the fuel filter on a Mini Cooper S 1.6 i Turbo 175hp
Tools
Parts
-
-
You must first remove the lower part of the bench seat
-
by pulling the bench seat upwards by positioning one hand on the left and one on the right. (where the fasteners are located in the green photo)
-
-
-
Now you need to remove the black cover on the passenger side.
-
For this you need a 10 key to remove the 5 nuts
-
and then completely remove the black cover
-
-
-
we visualize the block which contains the filter
-
I recommend cleaning before continuing so as not to put dust inside the tank.
-
Finally, we can remove the blue hose that arrives on top of the block, we simply have to press on the green clips
-
-
-
Remove the metal cup so that you can remove the filter block
-
You just have to unscrew it (counterclockwise)
-
I recommend using a hammer and chisel
-
Once removed, the filter block (white) can be removed by pulling upwards
-
-
-
Open the block to change the filter
-
you just have to make a quarter turn to the left
-
the top comes off and you have access to the filter
-
-
-
You have the new fuel filter in your hands, it just needs changing, and it needs it.
-
Don't forget to change the gaskets
-
one on the top of the filter (in the cap)
-
one on the bottom of the filter (in the jar)
-
one on the filter block cap
-
and the last one around the filter block which will reposition itself by putting it in the tank
-
All that remains is to reassemble the assembly: close the filter block (quarter turn to the right), put it back in the tank and put the metal cup back, and finally the hose on the block then the black metal cover. Without forgetting the bench :)

I have a Mini Clubman Cooper petrol 1L6 120 HP (R55) from June 2009 and I would like to replace the fuel filter. I consulted the Oscaro tutorial which is well done, but there is no fuel filter under the fuel tank flap on the passenger side. On the driver's side, it is the fuel pump. Can you tell me where this filter is located (model presented in your tutorial)? Is there another type of assembly or another type of filter? Thanks in advance.
Good morning,

Could you tell me if you found it and where it was?!
Thanks in advance!!
