Hello, maybe it is useful to specify to put the engine hood vertically by unlocking the left jack (when you are in front of the vehicle) of it. Just push the red button of the jack by raising the hood vertically. This facilitates access to the battery to lift it. For info on a clk convertible it weighs 22 kg, it can help to be just above and not at an angle, behind and at arm's length!!!
Hello. Thank you for this magic red button that made my task easier!

Good morning,
It is true that in the Mercedes workshop, a resting power supply is connected when changing the battery.
However, when it comes to radio, the data is stored in an EEPROM which does not lose information when it is no longer powered.
As for the data from the various calculators in the vehicle, they are also stored in this form. The risk of loss of information can occur if the power supply is disconnected while the calculators are in use. It is therefore necessary to switch off the ignition before changing the battery.
Regarding the sunroof, there is a procedure to calibrate it, by opening and closing the roof completely. See on the internet for the detailed procedure.
For information,
It seems to me that there is a risk of losing the programming of the windows and sunroof or even the radio if all power is removed from the vehicle.
Clear and simple to produce, the photos are a real plus
