Introduction

This tutorial shows you the steps to change the ABS sensor of a rear wheel of your BMW. The model presented is a 330d E91 phase 1.

Securing the vehicle: removing and refitting the wheel

Remove the 4 screws using an 8mm socket.

Remove the 4 nuts using a 10mm socket.

Clear the mudguard.

    • You don't have to remove the mudguard completely, just pry it loose enough to access the sensor connection.

Locate the connection.

Press the small square and push it outwards.

There are 2 hooks that hold the sensor in place.

    • Pull the hook outwards and then remove the sensor.

Using a 5mm Allen key, remove the screw.

Clean the sensor face and bore and coat with grease.

Reassembly is carried out in reverse order.

Compare the new sensor with the one you just removed to make sure they are the same length.
